Sports Marketing

Mission Statement
The purpose of this division is to provide our associates with real world experience in the marketing and sales of sports by working closely with the Penn State athletic department. 

We aspire to put fans in the seats at all athletic events through our intense marketing campaigns and exciting promotional events featuring the student-athletes of Penn State.

This division will also provide our associates with the opportunity to connect with current professionals in the industry, giving our associates the credentials to win internships and full-time positions in the sports industry.

Sports Business Certification Program
New to the Penn State Marketing Association this spring will be the sports business certification program offered exclusively only to the associates of PSMA.  This program targets underclassmen who are looking to gain knowledge and skills about marketing and different business aspects of sports business. Topics covered will be sports marketing and sports law. 

This bi-weekly program will include assignments, guest speakers, resume and interview work, networking and careers. There will also be a group project that will be provided by either ESPN or MLB and students will present their findings to a judge panel consisting of members from the PSU Athletic department and staff at Smeal.
